FAQs
The answers to your questions
Why should I have my pet professionally photographed?
When it comes to pet photography I believe pets are an integral part of the family and therefore your photos deserve to be of the highest quality possible. You can be assured that you’re not going to get mere ‘happy snaps’ (anyone these days can do that!). Instead you are going to get professional images – images that are composed well and where attention to detail is valued. All images are evaluated and processed in post production using the latest software and colour calibrated monitors to bring out the very best in every image.
How do I prepare for the Shoot?
Don’t worry. Once you’ve made a booking we will send you a Pre-Shoot Preparation Guide outlining in detail what you can do to help make the photo shoot the best it can be.
What happens during the shoot?
My pet photography shoots are aimed at providing you with as much variety of images of your pet to choose from as possible. To do this we will spend some time with your pet, making sure they trust us and are feeling comfortable with the camera. I will then begin the shoot. I may often make weird noises, hold up treats, balls and squeeze toys to grab your pet’s attention. It’s fun and there’s sure to be lots of laughs! You may be asked to get involved with us in crafting the right set ups. This could be something as simple as giving your pet commands to giving them treats and throwing toys for them to chase. It may mean a few takes to get the shot right so a little patience will be required – but it will be a lot of fun!
My dog is elderly/ill and time is limited. I would like to schedule right away. Is this possible?
YES! Please don’t worry, I’ll work with you in any way I can to get your dog photographed right away. Having 2 dogs who are ill and on limited time I truley understand what you are going through, my mission is.to get owners treasured photos of their beloved dogs, and I will bend over backwards to help you get these.
My dog is anxious of people is this ok?
Of course its ok, my shoot times are for an hour and a half. so I can always spend the first 30 mins just sitting and letting your dog get comfortable and trust me.

Can my dog stay on lead during the shoot?
Yes. It’s quite common for us to do the entire shoot with pets on a lead. I will direct the shoot so that the lead is hidden wherever possible or where it can be removed during the post production and editing process.

What should I wear to a pet photoshoot?
Choose an outfit that makes you feel comfortable, stylish, and confident. You can't go wrong with rich, earth tones. Layering with a jacket is flattering, too! Choose solid colors or very simple patterns.
What not to wear for outdoor photoshoot?
It is best to not wear bright red, hot pink, emerald green etc. If you must wear these colours go for the muted shade of the same colour. Dark red will work much better than bright red. Mustard will photograph better than bright yellow.

Can my family be in the photoshoot?
Of course! You’re family! You and your family are the most important part of your pet’s life and so it makes good sense to be included in some of the shots. Remember though – we will need to make sure that your pet is not distracted by too many people calling his/her name. Also, if you want humans in some of the pictures please make sure you’re wearing clothes that are appropriate for both the weather conditions as well as the style of the shoot. Unless you purposely want something way-out, try to coordinate clothing style as much as possible.

What if I don't want to be in the photos?
That is totally fine people don’t have to be included in the session. It’s totally up to you. Some of my clients (even myself) aren’t really a fan of being in front of the camera and choose to be present in the photos through creative photographic angles I use, such as from the waist down, hands, feet, from behind and other views that don’t focus on you.
What if it rains?
No problem, if the weather forecast predicts something that would hurt your photo session, such as rain, nobody wants soggy dog images, we’ll coordinate for a new date. I always leave wiggle room in my schedule because we all know how complicated the weather can be in the UK!

What if I need to postpone my photoshoot?
We understand that some circumstances are out of our control but we appreciate as much advance notice as possible. We can then try and reschedule the shoot. If there is multiple rescheduling this may result in an additional session fee.

Can my photo session take place at more than one location?
Absolutely. As we plan your session, we can discuss location options and additional fees for more than one location.

How far do you travel?
Generally I will travel to a location within one hour of my studio if its not the locations listed for a small fee. I am also happy to travel within the UK or even overseas if you so desire. Please contact me for a quote.

Do you photograph all kinds of pets?
Dog photography, cat photography, horse photography, birds, snakes, lizards….I'm open to anything! Nothing is too big or too small. In fact our business started from photographing elephants and other wildlife. Check out our wildlife images.
How many pets can I bring to the shoot?
The Packages allows for one pet. However you can selsct the x2 pets option when booking for an extra £5. Need more thats fine extra pets are £5 each. If you have a large group of pets to photograph please contact us as will need to customise the packge and times to suit your pets needs.
What happens after the shoot?
We all go home tired and happy! Then I start the behind the scenes work on editing and organizing your images and selecting the very best to show you! Once prepared (allow 1-2 weeks) I will share your online private gallery with you. .Here you have the opportunity to order artwork pieces ranging from individual prints (framed or unframed), canvases, luxury albums, and so on. I can also design a collection and offer packages at discounted prices
How long will it take to get my order?
This varies based on what you order. For instance, a framed and matted print or coffee table album is going to take longer to create than individual prints. On average it takes 2-5 weeks to get your order in your hands. Although, rush services are available (sometimes requiring an additional fee) and if I know of deadlines in advance I may be able to get you your order in as quick as 4-5 days. Again, this is based on what you need and time of year and you letting me know as quickly as possible of any urgent needs.
How do I book?
Fabulous! It’s easy! Head over to the Booking and fill out the form on my website right now. I’ll get back to you and we’ll get to planning.
